PreviewSVG is a native SVG viewer, exporter and optimizer for macOS. It is built to run entirely on your Mac. PreviewSVG does not collect, transmit, or sell any personal data.
Your files
The SVG files you open stay on your Mac. They are read, rendered, exported and optimized locally. PreviewSVG never uploads your files or their contents anywhere, and it keeps no copy of them beyond the document you opened.
Optimization runs inside the app: the SVGO optimizer is bundled and executed on your Mac, not on a server. The app never modifies the file you opened — an optimized result is written only to a new file you pick yourself, or copied to your clipboard.
No tracking
The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking SDKs, or user accounts. It does not build a profile of you and does not use cookies.
Network access
PreviewSVG holds the standard network entitlement, because the system component that renders your artwork (WebKit) requires it even to draw a purely local page. The app makes no requests of its own: it never contacts our servers, and there is nothing for it to send.
An SVG is loaded as an image, which means scripts inside it never run and references it makes to other files are not fetched. A file that draws itself — which is nearly all of them — causes no network traffic whatsoever.
Files the app can reach
PreviewSVG runs in Apple's App Sandbox. It can read the files you open and write the files you export, and nothing else. If you reopen a recent document, that permission is remembered as a security bookmark on your Mac and is never shared.
This website
The website at previewsvg.xfanta.com uses privacy-friendly, cookieless Vercel Analytics to count aggregate page views. It does not identify individual visitors.
The App Store
PreviewSVG is distributed through the App Store. Downloads and any associated account information are handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. We never see it.
